On Monday, Kerrie (Wechmann, that is), handed in her honours thesis! And with this, she is the first member of the Australian branch of the Lizard Lab to hand in a thesis of any shape or form. Well done Kerrie! A big celebration is planned. Kerrie did a paternity study examining the influence of behaviour and activity on male reproductive success in the Eastern Water Skink (Eulamprus quoyii). She put in long hours making detailed observations of their behaviour, not to mention lots of catching, measuring, and expert care of several hundred lizards. Dan Noble played a big role in her project and team Eulamprus (pictured below, minus Scott Keogh) is now working on converting this work into a paper.
