This is our lizard room! Technically, we have multiple lizard rooms but we have had this one for the longest and it is basically a stand-alone shed. It has served us very well over the years. More recently, it has been used for cognition studies and housed eastern water skinks, sleepy lizards, gidgee skinks, blue-tongue skinks and bearded dragons.

The lizards are on shelves with wheels, which enables us to change the arrangement of the room as needed.

It has a network of CCTV cameras for filming behaviour.

We acknowledge the traditional custodians of the Macquarie University land, the Wattamattagal clan of the Darug nation, whose cultures and customs have nurtured, and continue to nurture, this land, since the Dreamtime.  We pay our respects to Elders past, present and future.
